Mrs. Papari Kakati, Head, Dept. of English, Gossaigaon College, Gossaigaon, Kokrajhar, Assam has joined this institution in November, 2000. Mrs. Kakati has teaching experience of twenty two years and has published many research papers in many reputed National and International journals. Also attended many National and International seminars and workshops. She has published till date one research article in a international journal and nine research articles in varioua peer reviewed national journals. She has qualified M.Phil in 2008 and presently a research scholar in Ph.D, enrolled in 2019 in Krishna Kanta Handique State Open University, Guwahati , Assam. She  has edited a book entitled ‘Indian Fiction in English-Post-Colonial Discourses’ which proves interesting to the lovers of Indian writing in English and beneficial for the academic purposes. The mighty river Brahmaputra runs in Assam with all it’s marvel, musicality and masculinity. Hailing from this land, Mrs. Kakati has been a proficient singer also. She is a recognised artist in All India Radio and Doordarshan Kendra,Guwahati,Assam since 1991 and has rendered her voice in almost six regional languages till date, in radio, doordarshan and stage shows, has earned the credit in singing song with the Bollywood sensation, the versatile singer and an awardee  of National award in singing, SHAAN (popuraly known) in an Assamese album entitled     ‘DHAW’. She has rendered her voice in a Rajbongshi music album entitled ‘O Shoondori Mone Mone’. She has performed in many district and state level music competetions and has won awards to her credits. In 1996, she has been selected from the Gauhati University to perform Rabindra Sangeet in the Youth Festival held in Ranchi, Bihar. In 2022, she has rendered her voice in two Bodo modern songs in ‘You tube Channel’ and succeeded in securing accolades from the music lovers. Apart from her musical indulgence she has been a coloumnist in Assamese daily ‘Dainik Oxom’. Mrs. Papari Kakati is an optimist and believes in sharing noble thoughts for motivating and empowering the oppresed youths who often discover themselves unheard and muted. She has many academic/research and musical projects yet to be  endeavoured and succeeded.
