History

The Gossaigaon College Library was started in the year 1971 with the establishment of the College. It was housed in one of the halls of the present Academic Block constructed with the Assistance received from the UGC during the VIIIth plan. Later on the Library was shifted to its present location just near the Administrative Building of the College in the year 2008. The Gossaigaon College Library was later on renamed as Late Amritlal Basumatary Library after the name of the founder Principal of the College. The Library has a good collection of Books, Journals, Magazines & News papers in English, Assamese, Bodo & Hindi. It has more than 18,000 copies of texts and other reference Books. The Library of the College remains open from 9.00 AM to 4.00 PM on all working days. The Library also provides a reading room for students as well as teachers within the building. It also provides xerox facilities to the students.
